Community Engagement and Transformational Change

Supporting the engagement of people and communities in shaping health and care services in Scotland

Our strategic vision: meaningful engagement matters

Community Engagement and Transformational Change

Meaningful engagement matters.

It leads to high quality, safe services that are person-centred. It improves the health and wellbeing of communities.

We believe people and communities should be able to use their skills and experience to design and improve the health and care services that matter to them.

People should also have the opportunity to work together with the organisations that provide those services. We work with policy makers and service providers to make sure that people and communities are involved in planning and developing local health and care services.

We enable inclusive engagement of people and communities in health and care services through:

  • building and sharing evidence around engagement
  • using knowledge and expertise to improve engagement
  • providing assurance that people are involved in shaping services

Strategic Planning in Health and Social Care

We are excited to bring to your attention the Strategic Planning in Health and Social Care online resource. This aims to provide insight, support, tools, and worked examples for strategic planning teams across NHS boards and Health and Social Care Partnerships. The resource sits within our work on the Scottish Approach to Change - as part of quality planning.
